Introduction

Guthrie School, serving students from Pre-K to Grade 9, is situated on the military base in Lancaster Park. Named in honor of Air Vice-Marshal Kenneth M. Guthrie, the school initially belonged to the Department of National Defense School District before becoming a part of Sturgeon Public Schools in 1993. Owing to its location, Guthrie School maintains a unique relationship with the military community, welcoming a significant number of students from military families. However, as a public school, it is open to all families, attracting a diverse student body from North Edmonton and the broader Sturgeon County.
